While there are some concerns regarding nuclear waste, I think that we will find a way to process it down the road to either reuse it or make it “safe” waste. So to that point, I give Nader some credit. However, there are so many new technology advances with nuclear power that we can get more for less. I can’t see why we don’t have more domestically.

We already have the technology to recycle spend fuel rods (98% of a SFR is reusable) with breeder plants. That’s what they do in France; essentially the French are applying technology that was developed in the U.S. (Lawrence Livermore Lab in California) decades ago. Due to obstructionists like Nader, the manufacture and development of this technology in our country came to a standstill.
