First Debate – The questioning

The following is a track of all the questions and rebuttals as directed by the moderator.  I did miss a big section during the middle of the debate due to a distraction at the house, but hopefully I can catch a rebroadcast of the debates tomorrow to fill in the gap.

Question 1: What are the major differences between the two of you about how you will go about creating jobs? (Obama leads, Romney follows)
a) To Obama: Respond to “trickle-down government”.
b) To Romney: Do you have a question about what Obama has said?
c) Back to Obama: Open response to Romney.
d) To Romney: Let’s stay on the topic of taxes – what is the difference?
e) To Obama: Do you want to challenge what Romney said on his tax plans?
f) Romney “steals” a moment for a quick retort.
g) Obama “steals” a moment back.
h) Romney “steals” back again.

Question 2: What are the difference between the two of you on how to go about tackling the deficit problem? (Romney leads, Obama follows)
a) To Romney: Do you support Simpson-Bowles?
b) To Obama: Answer that “taxes thing” for a moment. (A balanced approach: increasing taxes plus spending cuts)
c) To Romney: Responding on tax breaks to oil companies.
d) To Obama: (Missed the question due to a phone call)
e) To Romney: Follow-up on Social Security and entitlements
f) To Obama: Respond to Romney’s Medicare plan.
g) To Romney: Do you support the voucher system?
h) Obama “steals” a moment.
i) Romney “steals” a moment.
j) To Romney: What’s your view on the level of government regulations? Too much?
k) To Obama: Too little?

Question 3: I believe it was about Obamacare. Missed a whole section of the debate. 

Question 4: Do you believe there’s a fundamental difference between the two of you how you view the mission of the Federal government? (Obama leads, Romney follows)
a) To Romney: Does the Federal government have the responsibility to improve the quality of education in America?
b) To Obama: Same question.
c) To Romney: Responding on Education spending.

Question 5: What would you do about partisan gridlock in the Legislature? (Romney leads, Obama follows) – — No follow-up questions
