As far as for why the Senate being driven to approve the bill, some feel that this is the best compromise bill that will pass through their hands and feel that "something" is better than "nothing." Unfortunately, this is a flawed logic. It is my opinion that many little bills designed to resolve a key issue is better than a large comprehensive bill trying to solve them all. But then again, you can pass as many bills that you want, but without enforcement, it is meaningless. Thank you Margaret. Have taken a keen interest in the U.S. Immigration Bill. Just read the list of "loopholes" in the Bill, and know there are many others. America is in trouble when it is known that the bill was defeated by a margin of 15 votes!!!! This bill should be defeated unanimously!!! I fail to understand why the U.S. Senate would be driven to approve this bill. It is a flawed document that represents a real danger to the economy, security, and well being of all American citizens, to say nothing of the impact it would have on the deficit. Even more discouraging is the impact this bill would have on the earnings of hard working Americans--it will drive down their pay cheques dramatically--beginning to sound like Mexico--keep em poor, naked and broke.
