I will incorporate that into my energy proposal, so you can read more about it.

My energy proposal is becoming much larger than I had planned. hahaha)

Yes sir. In fact, Honda is sending a few of they hydrogen cars to the US for a trial basis. However, due to a lack of infrastructure, they can only be driven in certain cities at the time being.

As far as the production of hydrogen, one of the most ingenious concepts I have seen so far is using sewer treatment plants as the source of hydrogen. In some plants, they inject oxygen into the sewage to create more water (the oxygen combines with sewer gas that results from the decomposing waste). They change would be to replace the oxygen with a minor electrical charge that would break down this gas, releasing hydrogen ions that could be collected.

By doing this, there is no need for a new processing plant just for hydrogen, and since most major cities have their own treatment plants, the hydrogen can be produced locally. Additionally, if you use a solar cell to provide the electrical charge, it will take less energy as well.

Now I may not have much technical knowledge about the scientific aspects of this stuff, but they are already developing Hydrogen cars yes?

Just thinking, water is H20 right? I wonder if its possible that a scientist would be able to figure out how to separate the oxygen out from the hydrogen, and make vehicles that run on water.

Sounds logical right? I imagine its probably the furthest thing from logical though being as it spilled out of my head.

Don't worry Ryan, we promise not to mention anything to your opposition over there. :)

However, you are correct in the fact that prices have almost doubled. This is why I don't give most politicians any credit when it comes to trying to resolve the energy problem. I 'do' give Bush credit for the hydrogen initiative, but unfortunately we are still a few years away from any domestic practical application, and we are already behind both Japan and Germany in this field.

Whatever the solution is, it will not be simple, but rather a combination of multiple sources, some of which will be combined together to augment each other (such as solar and hydrogen for example). Will either side drop the talking points so they can take the common sense approach and resolve this together? Not before gas prices hit $6.00 I fear. They'll keep pointing the fingers at each other and the "evil" speculators.

I usually try to keep my politics quiet(I am married to the opposition, lol) But I have to point out something not mentioned in those excerpts.
A Disgruntled Republican about Pelosi's "common sense plan" on bringing down the gas prices reminded me of it. Since er the Democrats have taken over 2 years ago the gas prices have gone up something like 75%,
hmmmm.....I wonder if there might be a connection or a failure of a promise?

If only I had more time in the evening, Shan. I have so many political blogs registered under my feed ... *sigh* I do enjoy reading your entries, as well as everyone else that I've registered with. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks for the link; it's nice to know, as bloggers, that some people actually read our work and take it seriously. It's nice seeing the wide spectrum of beliefs on such a specific issue...
