The Political Blog Weekly trailed off over the past two months while my desktop computer was down. My apologies to all of the regular contributors to the Weekly. I am glad to say that it will make a comeback next week … with a new twist.

As I had mentioned in the past, I am a member and user of SeededBuzz, and I will now be pulling articles from this service to form the backbone of the Weekly. If you are interested in signing up for the service to have your blog included in the Weekly, here is a brief description of how it works.

SeededBuzz is a service where you can post your work for other bloggers to reference. This increases the number of links to your site while continuing your discussion topic on multiple blogs. Say you wrote an article about the Chevy Volt and if it will be a successful model. You post it on SeededBuzz where a car blog finds it and wants to talk about the car design. Another blogger finds your article and wants to talk about how it is eco-friendly. Your article has just be connected to two blogs that you might not have seen before. And if someone references their article, your blog has the potential to reach even more readers.

So take a moment and check out the site. If you are interested in signing up, enter invitation code uscommonsense.  Once registered, send me a private message through the service.  That way I know you have joined and I can make a point to pull your articles.

What a busy past two weeks.  As you can see, the desktop is STILL collecting dust on the desk.  My weekends have been consumed with yard work and holidays, so I just haven’t had time to sit down and work on the machine.  Maybe this weekend….

And now, here are the submissions for the current edition!

Jerry Nelson presents Breathe America — Breathe « JourneyAmerica posted at JourneyAmerica.

The article is a bit dated, but I wanted to bring your attention to something that I discovered on his website. If you look at the menu bar at the top of his page, you’ll find an option labeled “The Bike Trip.” It will take you to his secondary website called Jerry Nelson Photography. It is a great collection of images from all across America, and gives you a unique glimpse at our history (both modern and classic) through pictures.

Josh Dannett presents Iran rivalry behind Cairo’s Hizbullah tension posted at Stop Iran Now.

REMARKS: This blog provides news and opinions on the degenerating Iranian nuclear situation.

Michael Wolf presents Letter 2 America for May 3, 2010 posted at letters2america.

REMARKS: My blog is about many topics, but primarily about politics and current events.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents John McCain — Ignoramus, Liar, Or Terrorist Sympathizer? posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Madeleine reminds us of the trap all politicians fall in to after too many years in office. Another clever poem, and I would have to agree (and I need to write an article on this): you can’t complain about reading a US citizen his Miranda rights, even if he attempts to commit a terrorist attack in the US. Until the law is changed, he is due his rights as protected under the law.

Charles Thompson presents Nation’s Largest Black Fraternity Boycotts Arizona Over Law posted at One Man Views On Politics.

When you put a stick in a hornets’ nest, your bound to be swarmed. This is what Arizona is experiencing at the moment. Because they’ve decided to empower their local law enforcement officials to pick up the slack left by the Federal Government, they are being cursed (and praised) by groups outside of their borders. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next few years.

That is all I have for now.  I want to thank everyone for their submissions, and encourage them to keep up the good work.  It is highly unlikely that I will get my desktop worked on this weekend, as I will have guests staying at the house.  However, it is on my list of things to do.  After all, I do more than just blogging on that lean, mean, gaming machine!

As you can see, this week’s Political Blog Weekly is in the plain text format as last weeks.  I spend Friday and Saturday working in the yard, and just didn’t have the time or energy to sit down and work on the desktop.  Maybe next weekend.  In the mean time, here are some of the submissions received this past week.

No Fo Pa presents politics and friends posted at No Fo Pa.

REMARKS: Avoid embarrassing social mistakes. Vote. Research. Share. Behave.

A great little post. Should you discuss politics with your friends or your coworkers? I believe you should. You can discuss and debate your positions without being rude, insulting, or superior. After all, as is stated in the purpose of this blog, discussing the various views on a topic is the only way to learn more about the issue and to question if your beliefs are based on sound principle.

Ann Margrain presents ?Panic in Detroit? ? Is Pollution Racist? posted at Heroin and Cornflakes.

REMARKS: “We’re breathing in all kinds of toxics. Our cries have gone unheard.”

A good little case study on the rise and fall of Detroit, and how race has played a roll in the city’s history.

Leah L. Burton presents Update to My Readers?Exciting Developments posted at God’s Own Party?.

One of our regular submitters to the Weekly, Leah is announcing her new book contract in this post. I have often thought about what it would be like to write a book (professionally). Writing a book is more than just sitting down and typing words together. As I’ve learned with my on-going case study of the United States and the Philippines, there is a lot of research that is involved. I have one friend that just completed her own book, and two other friends that are already published. One of the these days…

That is all for this week. If you have any articles you wish to submit, please look us up on the Blog Carnival website. If you do not have a website of your own, you are always free to inquire about being a guest blogger on this site.
